The main role of the New Build Conveyancer is to manage a portfolio of new build transactions, taking full responsibility for all elements of the conveyancing transaction. You will also supervise a small team of Legal Assistants.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- You will manage a case load of new build transactions from inception to completion
- You will deal effectively with clients and third parties over the telephone, in written correspondence and occasionally face to face, in order to provide advice and assistance
- You will be responsible for communicating with clients and third parties on all elements of the conveyancing transaction
- You will keep the case management system and any third-party web sites up to date in real time, together with emailing out weekly updates to the developer
- You will be responsible for maintaining the relationship with referrers of work and ensuring to the best of your ability that we have a steady flow of incoming work and prevent any drop off of work due to poor service delivery
- You will ensure our clients and introducers of business receive the best possible service at times and will strive to receive 5-star feedback
- You will be targeted on exchanges and revenue
- You will prepare required documentation as required with the conveyancing process
- You will manage a small team of Legal Assistants taking an active role in their training and development
- You will be responsible the preparation of completions and for ensuring everything runs smoothly on the day of completion
- You will comply with all PLS Policies and procedures to avoid breaches and writes offs
- You will review and use the MI available to you and take action where necessary
- Any other duties required to assist your team and other teams should the need arise.
Essential skills:
- Experience running own New Build case load preferred
- Strong administrative skills gained in an office environment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good telephone manner
- Conversant in Microsoft office
- Highly organised
- Experience of managing a small team
- Experience of using a case management system (we use Proclaim)
