We’re looking for an experienced Technical Conveyancer to join our Post Completions team in a specialist, advisory-focused role.
- Location: Remote (must be based in mainland UK with a valid right to work). You’ll need to attend our Head Office in Altrincham for one week for training on systems, collecting equipment, and meeting key team members before working from home.
- Hours: Full-time, Mon–Fri, 9:00–17:00 (potentially open to part time for the right candidate)
- Start Date: ASAP (flexible, happy to consider longer notice periods)
- Salary: Up to £40k DOE
This isn’t a client-facing, end-to-end caseload position. Instead, you’ll act as a technical authority – reviewing files, resolving complex requisitions, advising on compliance queries, and supporting the wider business with expert guidance. You’ll work closely with our Client Services Manager to provide technical input on escalations and complaints, while also identifying training needs across the business and feeding into our Risk, Training & Compliance (RCT) team to drive continuous improvement.
If you enjoy problem-solving, reviewing files with a critical eye, influencing best practice, and improving processes without the pressure of managing your own caseload, this could be the perfect next step.
What You’ll Do:
- Assisting the Client Services Manager with technical input required to respond to and resolve case escalation and complaints as and when required
- Identify training needs across the business and feed into the RCT team
- Identify process or system improvements and feed into the RCT or ops teams
- Be part of our Audit programme, auditing files to ensure compliance to PLS policies, procedures and use of the case management system
- Following audits, you will provide reports to Senior Managers with regard to areas of non-compliance with suggested remedial action
- To handle case specific compliance queries
- You will assist with reviewing legal, process and case law updates, advising on and implementing process and document changes, producing guidance notes where required
- You will be responsible for reviewing queries from the Post Completion team members
- Providing advice or guidance on how to rectify issues or deal with HM Land Registry requisitions
- Dealing with more complex requisitions and assisting generally in the Post Completions process
- Any other duties required to assist your team and other property teams should the need arise
What We’re Looking For:
- You will have proven experience as a senior conveyancer and will be able to demonstrate a strong technical knowledge of conveyancing transactions from end to end.
- Experience handling a broad mix of transaction types – extensive experience with New Build is advantageous.
- Experience operating at a senior level, ideally with exposure to reviewing or signing off files.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Conveyancer managing a complex caseload
- Excellent attention to detail, strong organisational and analytical skills, and the ability to prioritise effectively
- Good IT skills with experience using a case management system (Proclaim preferred)
- A conveyancing qualification (desirable but not essential) – experience is key.
- Passionate about delivering great service and achieving results.
- We’re happy to consider candidates who have managed their own complex caseload and have the relevant skills to now move into a more technical, advisory-led position.
What You’ll Get in Return:
- No client-facing responsibilities – you’ll focus on technical work rather than handling day-to-day client communication.
- Better work/life balance – you won’t be carrying your own files end to end and can avoid the pressure this comes with as well as having the flexibility of fully remote working.
- Study support options (employer-funded after 12 months) and ongoing training
- Varied workload – exposure to a mixed bag of transaction types; freehold, leasehold, New Build and more complex cases.
- Long-term development opportunities
- 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays, with buy/carry over options
- Employee benefits: death in service, EAP, counselling, health care plan, and salary sacrifice
- Extras: free conveyancing, mortgage advice, staff discounts
