This year for International Women’s Day we have spoken with some of our team members on their thoughts and how they plan to #EmbraceEquity.
The aim of the IWD 2023 #EmbraceEquity campaign theme is to get the world talking about Why equal opportunities aren’t enough. People start from different places, so true inclusion and belonging require equitable action.

Why do you think it is important to celebrate International Women’s Day?
It is important to reflect on how far we have come towards equality but also how much still has to be done.
Have you faced any barriers in your career due to being a woman? If so, how did you overcome them?
Leaving the workforce to have children. Maternity cover was not what is available now and there was no paternity leave. I suppose I didn’t overcome them and I had to start again.
What is the most important piece of advice you have been given?
Don’t try to be like your male colleagues , as women, we bring different strengths
How can we encourage more women to pursue entrepreneurship or senior leadership roles in their career?
You cannot be what you can’t see…Making success visible will inspire more women to see what can be achieved so they will not have to doubt themselves.
What is the most important message you want to send out to young women thinking about their careers?
There is no role that is just for men, if you love what you do you will thrive.
Is there anyone that inspires you in your career?
Jacinda Ardern – I would like to be her when I grow up!
If you could have dinner with three inspirational women, dead or alive, who would they be and why?
Eleanor Roosevelt, Katherine Hepburn & Michelle Obama.
