Celebrating a Year of Success at PLS Solicitors

As we close the door on 2023 , now is the perfect time to reflect on the achievements and events that have marked PLS Solicitors’ journey over the last 12 months. From winning awards to team-building activities, PLS has had a year full of accomplishments, community involvement, and employee engagement.

Employee Satisfaction at its Peak

Feedback from our employee engagement survey was overwhelmingly positive, with over 97% of employees expressing their enjoyment of working at PLS. This was complemented by the fact that more than 95% of the staff would recommend PLS as an employer, showcasing a thriving work environment and an inclusive culture

Awards and Recognitions

PLS’s commitment to excellence was highlighted as we won the ‘New Build Conveyancing Team of the Year Award‘ at The British Conveyancing Awards in March. This was a great way to kick off the 2nd quarter of the year.

We didn’t stop there though as PLS Solicitors were thrilled to be named Best Law Firm for Conveyancing at the First Time Buyer Reader Awards 2023, voted by the public. This reflected our commitment to helping people achieve their dream of home ownership. We were proudto maintain our top spot for new build transactions with ourdedication to a seamless home-buying experience, coupled with innovative digital solutions, garnering this recognition.

Growth and Expansion

In a significant milestone, we were granted an ABS licence and expanded our leadership team by awarding directorship to two non-legal board members. This move not only diversified our board but also brought in fresh perspectives to our business strategy and allowed us to recognise the non-legal talent we have at PLS Solicitors.

Employee Wellbeing

During the month of May we made sure all our staff worked on their mental health and wellbeing as we commemorated Stress Awareness Month with a special treat for our team — complimentary massages. This initiative was a part of our ongoing efforts to create a supportive and healthy work environment.

Continuing with Stress Awareness Month, we invited Guide Dogs UK and three of their furry friends to our office. This initiative, featuring enjoyable doggie cuddles, was much more than just a break; it reflected our understanding of the importance of mental health in the workplace combined with the feel good factor of raising awareness and supporting a very important charity. We believe that investing in our team’s well-being is not just beneficial but crucial for maintaining a positive and productive work environment. The focus on such thoughtful campaigns has proven to be immensely beneficial, as it has helped our staff feel recharged, rejuvenated, and ready to tackle any challenges that come their way, creating a healthier, more supportive work culture.

To help raise awareness for men’s mental health, some of the PLS team took part in Movember, embracing the opportunity to grow moustaches and spark conversations about the often-overlooked issue of men’s mental well-being. Throughout the month, our team members became walking advocates, using their facial hair transformations as conversation starters to break down stigmas surrounding mental health challenges that many men face.

Community and Team Engagement

Our team spirit shone through in our participation in the Dragon Boat Race for Barnabus and the Pretty Muddy 5k for Cancer Research, reflecting our commitment to charitable causes. This dedication to entering group events not only strengthens our bonds as a team but also reinforces our belief that, through collective effort and determination, we can make a positive impact on those around us.

Celebrations and Fun

PLS knows how to celebrate its successes and embrace a sense of community. Our Summer Party and Christmas Party were highlights of the year, offering fantastic opportunities for team bonding. We also embraced fun initiatives like our seasonal buffets for Easter and Halloween and not forgetting Christmas Jumper Day, adding some festive flair to our work life.

Recognising Long Service

A highlight of this year was the recognition of twelve team members who have been with PLS for 5 or 10 years. These long service awards are a small token of our appreciation for their dedication and contributions to the firm’s growth. We look forward to working with them for many more years to come!

Looking Ahead

As we celebrate a year filled with achievements, community involvement, and team spirit, PLS Solicitors looks forward to another year of growth, success, and making a positive impact on our clients, staff and the community. We remain committed to our values and our people, ready to embrace the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
