The main role of the Conveyancer is to manage a portfolio of shared ownership purchase and resale transactions, taking full responsibility for all elements of the conveyancing transaction. You will also supervise a small team of Legal Assistants.

Duties will include but will not be limited to:

  • You will manage a case load of shared ownership purchase and resale transactions from inception to completion
  • You will deal effectively with clients and third parties over the telephone, in written correspondence and occasionally face to face, in order to provide advice and assistance
  • You will be responsible for communicating with clients and third parties on all elements of the conveyancing transaction
  • You will keep the case management system and any third-party web sites up to date in real time, together with emailing out weekly updates to the developer
  • You will be responsible for maintaining the relationship with referrers of work and ensuring to the best of your ability that we have a steady flow of incoming work and prevent any drop off of work due to poor service delivery
  • You will ensure our clients and introducers of business receive the best possible service at times and will strive to receive 5-star feedback
  • You will be targeted on exchanges and revenue
  • You will prepare required documentation as required with the conveyancing process
  • You will manage a small team of Legal Assistants taking an active role in their training and development
  • You will be responsible the preparation of completions and for ensuring everything runs smoothly on the day of completion
  • You will comply with all PLS Policies and procedures to avoid breaches and writes offs
  • You will review and use the MI available to you and take action where necessary
  • Any other duties required to assist your team and other teams should the need arise

Essential Skills:

  • Experience running own shared ownership case load.
  • Strong administrative skills gained in an office environment
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good telephone manner
  • Conversant in Microsoft office
  • Highly organised
  • Experience of managing a small team
  • Experience of using a case management system (we use Proclaim)
  • Confident in building and maintaining business relationships through excellent communication
