Your Duties

The Training Manager will have ownership of designing, developing and implementing the organisation’s training strategy to enhance employee performance, drive business growth and ensure PLS is seen as an Employer of Choice due to its commitment to staff training & development. This role would suit a highly experienced Residential Conveyancing looking for a career change.


  • Design and deliver on-going innovative training programmes across a variety of different platforms (digital and offline) – liaising with external providers where necessary
  • Design and deliver an engaging and effective induction programme to ensure new starters feel fully prepared and ready to start their new career with PLS
  • Conduct training needs analysis and devise a training and development plan that meets requirements and expectations
  • Continuous monitoring and evaluation of training programme effectiveness and ROI
  • Produce content for and facilitate in-house training courses
  • Ensure we remain fully compliant with regards to training needs as required by governing bodies such as the SRA, CQS and CPD by providing relevant and timely training
  • Prepare and implement on the spot training sessions for conveyancers and conveyancing assistants as requested
  • Responsible for mentoring all Trainee Solicitors and Conveyancing Apprentices, ensuring they are on track with their studies and assignments and liaising with the SRA and Apprenticeship provider
  • Training will relate to technical legal aspects as well as legal and other processes, case management systems, client and referrer portals
  • Regular auditing of conveyancing files; preparing files audits; for Lexcel or other purposes and also to identify and profile training needs
  • Preparing , reviewing and amending correspondence, templates, standard documents and other documentation as requested
  • Researching and training in new legal updates, requirements and processes
  • Work with HR to roll out a new Appraisal Scheme and other future schemes that sets objectives and identifies and rectifies training needs
